GFWC of Missouri Scholarships
GFWC of Missouri offers college scholarships to deserving students in Missouri universities each year. Scholarships are offered in the areas of Art, Forestry, Health, Law, and Music. Local GFWC clubs and members contribute toward these scholarships. Each college or university selects the winning scholarship recipient each May.

Ezell/Zachary Forestry Scholarship at University of Missouri

McDonough Law Scholarship at University of Missouri
Johnson/Calvin/Cook Mental Health Nursing Scholarship at University of Missouri
Helen Steinkuhle Memorial Scholarship for Native American Indian student at a college in Springfield, MO
Bartley/Dance/Nevatt Music Scholarship at University of Missouri
Shelton/Snavely Music Therapy Scholarship at University of Missouri, Kansas City
GFWC of Missouri also appreciates the dozens of scholarships that are awarded annually by our clubs. Education and youth leadership are among the high priorities of interest promoted by our membership.
GFWC of Missouri sponsors a college loan program.
Phoebe Jane Ess Loan Fund

The PHOEBE JANE ESS LOAN FUND was established in 1909 as a college loan fund available to Missouri women desiring to further their education. The applicant must have a creditable record in scholarship and be a graduate of a four year Missouri accredited high school or equivalent. She must be planning to attend a Missouri school or college and be in need of assistance. The INTEREST FREE LOAN OF $2,500 is paid to the school or college. The student must begin repaying the loan to GFWC of Missouri when she leaves the school.
