Hats, Gloves and Bags Photo

Have you ever tried to share your GFWC experience with someone, only to have them ask if your club is really a card group or “only” a book club?

The fact is that many people still rely on the old-school idea of what a woman’s club really is, and GFWC is turning this idea on its head with Hats, Gloves, and Bags campaign. Now it’s time to engage your club in this campaign to let your community know that “Hats, gloves, and bags are still part of our tradition.”

Show us how your club gets decked-out in this “traditional” woman’s club garb by submitting your picture to our national call for photos. There are infinite number of ways to show us your hats, gloves, and bags style:

Perhaps you wear dishwashing gloves, carry grocery bags, and don hairnets to help support your local homeless shelter or soup kitchen.
Maybe you sport wide-brimmed sun hats and gardening gloves, toting around bags of soil and seed when landscaping in your community.

No matter how you get into your GFWC uniform, we want to see it! Be creative, be true to the objectives of your club, and be proud that “Hats, gloves, and bags are still part of our tradition.”

Rules for Submissions
GFWC is accepting photo submissions for the Hats, Gloves, and Bags campaign through Friday, April 18, 2008. Photos may be submitted as physical prints (must be 4x6 or larger; will not be returned) or electronically (digital photos must be taken with a minimum 6MP digital camera).

Photos MUST be vertical. Include the following information with your submission, and DO NOT write on the back of the photo or affix tape, glue, or other paper to the photo:

Name of person submitting photo, along with telephone number and contact information (e-mail addresses preferred)
Name of person who took photo and their affiliation with your club/GFWC
Name of your GFWC club
City and state of your GFWC club
Club president’s name and contact information
Date and location of photo (include city, state, and event if applicable
Names of each individual included in the photo, from left to right or in a way that clearly identifies each person
Brief statement regarding the photo and how it demonstrates that “Hats, gloves, and bags are still part of our tradition.”
